Proud Vet,
Have you no respect for your commander in chief. Regardless of your political ideologies, he's our boss....Period. I have been serving this nation for over 20 years and I think its reprehensible that people refer to our president by his middle name is a manner which tries to compare him to Sadamn Hussien or frame him as an Islamic extremist. Agree or disagree with him, at least he is attempting to move us forward. I'm not the biggest fan of excess spending and increased debt. Both sides of the isle have wasted to much of our hard earned tax dollars. While in Iraq I saw gross waste on part of the government contractors and the old administration. Bottom line, stop being disrespectful. As a former Service member, express your opinions, but do it with tact, not with contempt. You can say I'm off base, but I don't think I am. Take care, God bless, and God bless America!!!!!!!
I am also a proud veteran and I also think that USA is still the greatest country ever, but I also think that we as Americans are full of ourselves if we think that we can simply talk down to and treat other countries as if they are lesser. President Obama has seen that and is trying to correct it (At least the misconceptions). And Some Americans have the audacity to think that this is weakness on his behalf!!! This sort of thinking is ludicrous at best. America is a debtor nation and happens to owe more to other Nations than they owe to us and you seriously think that Americans should be puffing our chests out at other Nations??? Think of it as a debtor/creditor relationship, how do you think a Creditor would respond to a debtor telling them to kiss their A##? I think that President Obama is on the right track, because I personally think that he might just be working up to getting some of the money owed to us back in order to curb the deficit (Hum).
You really use your information in a slanted way. By stating that FDR's unemployment rates were in excess of 25% you really are mistating the information. FDR's unemployment rates were high in his first couple of years. 1933, the year he took office from Hoover, the unemployment rate was 24.9, the next years consecutively where 21.7, 20.1, 17.0, 14.3, 19.0, 17.2, 14.6 and so on. Ultimately to 4.7 in 1942. So your information is a tad incorrect. You would be more correct to site that President Hoover, the do nothing and things will fix itself President, was the actual cause of the unemployment rates under FDR. But as with all people like yourself distorting the facts to fit your own agenda actual makes you look smart. What ever. Enjoy misleading the sorry individuals who aren't smart enough to do the research themselves.
